Chris Dingle is the man behind Custom Interiors.
Since starting Custom Interiors in 2016 Chris has designed and built residential interiors around New Zealand. Before starting out on his own Chris worked on the construction of luxury interiors for super yachts. Chris has worked on super yachts in New Zealand, Italy, Australia and Denmark.
Chris started building furniture as a high school student. His passion for wood led him to an apprenticeship as a wood turner/ chair maker. During his apprenticeship he discovered a love of design and went on to study Visual Arts and Design at EIT in Hawkes Bay. After a period working with Peter Maclean in Hawkes Bay he further developed his skills in Italy where he helped restore the interiors of classic racing yachts Lulworth and La Spina.
Chris’ experience has seen him evolve as a craftsman and a project manager. He is able to work with a variety of materials and supervise the work of other trades. He is an approved fabricator of Laminex acrylic solid surfaces and works with solid wood, plywood and a range of metals, glass, stone and concrete.
Chris Dingle shares a workshop with blacksmith Chris Moore in Oratia, West Auckland. They share a passion for traditional techniques used in contemporary ways.
Chris is available to take on kitchen renovations, new builds and bespoke furniture projects. He can help you design your own unique space or work with your existing design plans.
